Milton Keynes Storm Under 18s (Division 2)
Result: 11th November 2007. Streatham Royals 1 v MK Storm 19
(0-8, 0-6, 1-5)
Milton Keynes demolished a dispirited Streatham team to continue their push for promotion back to the top league. Streatham ran sides in both leagues last season, but they have struggled to muster one team this season, and they offered little but physical confrontation against a MK unit brimming with skill and speed. Despite the paucity of opposition, MK kept their discipline throughout the match, and almost every goal came from fast passing moves.
Goals came at regular intervals and were shared equally between the lines. Harry Bowers had a particularly eventful afternoon, scoring a goal, and at one stage pulling two pucks out of a tussle in the corner, like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat!
Streatham have refused to travel to away games this season, and this defeat will hardly have encouraged them to change their ways. If
Milton Keynes continue to improve at the rate they have this past month, they must surely get the promotion they want.
