This always looked like being a difficult game, last season the U12/14 development team beat
Cardiff
5-3 in a game in which Storm loaned a line to a short-benched
Cardiff
to make it more competitive. This time around a youthful and pretty inexperienced Storm (with only 12 players) were up against the full Cardiff squad, whose players were either large, agile, or both, and got on the wrong end of a big score.
However the guys never gave up, and kept going forward being denied consolation goals only by some excellent saves from the
Cardiff
netminder in the last period, which according to the scoreboard was the 4th, part of which was surprisingly played with a running clock.
The return match is at 1625 Sunday 2nd Dec and if the team keep up the same level of effort who knows what can happen.
